Introducing the new Patek Philippe 5712/1R in full rose gold and with a delicious chocolate brown dial. As a true horological icon with a cult-like status perhaps only rivalled by the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the Patek Philippe Nautilus needs little introduction. This luxury sports watch was first introduced in 1976 and has seen many iterations since.
The new 5712 in rose gold comes in a 40mm diameter case with a height of 8.52mm. Considering the amount of mechanical prowess resting underneath the dial, the slim height remains ever-impressive. The case shows a mix of brushed and polished surfaces and has a sapphire crystal on top and a second one covering the movement around the back. New to the 5712 is a gradient dial in a rich chocolate brown tone, with the signature horizontal grooves running across it. The applied indices are rose gold and have a central strip of luminescent material.
This calibre bears the Patek Seal of quality and comprises 265 components in total, including 29 jewels. The movement is wound with a micro-rotor and runs at a frequency of 21,600vph. With no less than 11 bridges, it’s a rather complex construction, but everything is finished to the highest standards. The indications include central hours and minutes, small seconds, power reserve, moon phase, and the date.
